Other artists >> James Dodds
James Dodds is a one-time boat-builder turned printmaker and one of the East Coast's most distinctive artists. When he went to art school he rebelled against his boatbuilding past. The sea however, has a way of catching up with you, and he soon had to find a way of combining the two. This is where the chisel became his brush. He has always been interested in the process of reproducing his work as well as creating it and startled collecting and using old presses and lead type for many of his very-limited-edition books. He repreduced many of his early painting a linocuts or woodcuts for illustration as well.
