Jeffrey Sabol
Jeffrey L. Sabol grew up near the Housatonic River where boating and drawing were a part of everyday life. From an early age, he was fascinated by the ever-changing reflections of the boats at anchor in the harbor. This fascination is translated by his unique interpretation of line and shadow which appear almost abstract in his startingly realistic work. His paintings are an exercise in tranquility and gentle motion, as they study the lightness of line. Jeffrey studied architectural design and drafting before traveling extensively. He settled in the Florida Keys and was a commercial fisherman, but continued to sell paintings. At times, he lived at sea for several weeks, and this is the pervasive mood present in his work. He painted with, and studied under, world-renowned artist W. Lindzee Prescott. The two painted several murals together. Jeffrey displays his work in many galleries in the Northeast, and frequently does commissions.
