Originally from Long Island, New York, Loretta Krupinski currently lives in Midcoast, Maine. After graduating with a B.F.A. from Syracuse University, Ms. Krupinski worked for many years as an illustrator and graphic designer, but has chosen to pursue a dual career as a maritime artist and an author and illustrator of books for children. While preferring to paint local harbors, beaches, and classic wood boats, her move to coastal Maine prompted an additional interest in historical painting of the maritime industry. As a sailor herself, her boat and camera have given her easy access to views of harbors, yachts, and fishing boats from the water. She is a Fellow and board member of the American Society of Marine Artists and has exhibited nationally
